Sydney’s Taylor Ross will be bringing home a bronze medal from an international boxing competition in Serbia. The 17-yearold member of Team Canada dropped a split decision to Hungarian Franni Szokol in her semifinal bout on Friday at the Golden Gloves of Vojvodina International Boxing Tournament. Ross had advanced to the semifinals with a unanimous decision over Polish national champion Patrycia Mrozinska on Thursday. The trip to Serbia marks the second time in three months that the Whitney Pier fighter, who is coached by father Brad at the Sydney Boxing Club, has fought overseas. In May, Ross journeyed to Taiwan where she competed at the AIBA Junior/Youth Women’s World Boxing Championships.
