On Fri­day, July 10, 2015 at 69 years of age, Danny Lewis passed away peace­fully in his sleep in Glace Bay Hos­pi­tal with his fam­ily by his side.

Danny was pre­de­ceased by his par­ents, Mae MacLeod- Lewis and Free­man ‘Buddy’ Lewis as well as an in­fant sis­ter, Emily.

He is sur­vived and will be dearly missed by his fam­ily, Ann, his wife of 50 years; two daugh­ters, Kim Fowler (Richard) and Leah Lewis; grand­son, Matthew Arnold, as well as six sib­lings, Leah Ma­cLean (Doug), Stephen Lewis (He­len), Bryne ‘ Buddy’ Lewis, Emily MacIsaac ( Jimmy), Jean Anne McNeil (Stewart) and Cather­ine MacLeod (Karl) and nieces and neph­ews.

Danny grew up in the hub neigh­bour­hood and al­ways had a fond­ness for an­i­mals, es­pe­cially cats. Danny’s fam­ily along with those who knew him will miss his lov­ing and gen­tle spirit.

Vis­i­ta­tion will take place from 1– 3 p.m. on Tues­day, July 14th at Pat­ten Fu­neral Home in Glace Bay with the fu­neral ser­vice start­ing at 3 p.m.
