Councillor confident about mine

Cape Breton Post - - NEWS - BY SHARON MONTGOMERY-DUPE DONKIN smontgomery@cbpost.com

As Cape Breton anticipates news of the opening of the Donkin Mine soon, Dist. 8 Coun. Kevin Saccary said there are signs things are progressing.

“A few days ago I heard a private jet landed at the Sydney Airport and let some workers off with suitcases,” he said.

Saccary said through an earlier conversation with representatives of the Cline Group, he was told some employees in Cline’s Illinois mine were interested in coming to work in Cape Breton for the set up process. He said it appears people are being brought in to help get the mine started - for the orientation process.

“My understanding is they volunteered to come here to work - key managers in their respected fields.”
