Baddeck golfer finishes third
KINGSTON, N.S. — Baddeck’s Trevor Chow has finished in a third place tie at the Nova Scotia men’s amateur championship. Chow, who now resides in the Halifax area and golfs out of the Ashburn Golf Club, shot his third consecutive twoover-par 73 to finish at 12over par in 2015 MCT Insurance Men’s Amateur provincial championship. The tournament went to extra holes after 15-year-old Shaun Margeson overcame a three-shot deficit with three holes to play to tie 2008 champion David Williamson at nine-over par for the four rounds at the Paragon Golf and Country Club in Kingston. The teenager scrambled on the first playoff hole, but holed a birdie chip for par to put the pressure on Williamson, but the 30-yearold from Truro then got up and down from a greenside bunker to make birdie and claim his second men’s amateur title. Thomas Xidos, of The Lakes, finished in a tie for 29th place.
