Plea date set for two rob­bery ac­cused

Two of three peo­ple charged in con­nec­tion with an armed rob­bery are sched­uled to en­ter pleas on July 21.

Latef Reak­won Tag-El-Din, 19, of the Hal­i­fax area is charged with armed rob­bery (a hand­gun) in con­nec­tion with a June 4 in­ci­dent in which a Syd­ney Mines man claimed he was robbed of cash, jew­elry and an iPhone by three peo­ple he was trav­el­ling in a vehi- cle with. No in­juries were re­ported. Kevin Thomas For­rest, 20, of Rateau Street, Syd­ney Mines, is charged with armed rob­bery (a hand­gun).

A 16-year-old girl from Hal­i­fax is sched­uled to en­ter a plea to a charge of armed rob­bery dur­ing a court ap­pear­ance Wed­nes­day.

Both For­rest and Tag-El-Din were pre­vi­ously de­nied bail. The girl con­tin­ues her re­lease on con­di­tions.
