Judge and jury trial sched­uled

SYD­NEY — A Baddeck man was as­signed a trial date Wed­nes­day on im­paired driv­ing charges. Alan Kyle MacLeod, 37, of Har­vey Drive is charged with two counts of driv­ing with a blood-al­co­hol level ex­ceed­ing the le­gal limit caus­ing bod­ily harm and two counts of im­paired driv­ing caus­ing bod­ily harm. Three other charges were with­drawn dur­ing a court ap­pear­ance Thurs­day. The charges re­late to an ac­ci­dent Oct. 27, 2013, in Baddeck when a man driv­ing a 2009 Ford Ranger drove head-on into another ve­hi­cle. Two fe­males in the sec­ond ve­hi­cle were se­ri­ously in­jured. A judge and jury trial is now sched­uled for May 2-6.
