Bas­ket­ball Cape Bre­ton teams find suc­cess in Hal­i­fax

HAL­I­FAX — Bas­ket­ball Cape Bre­ton had four teams make strong show­ings at the 2015 Bluenose Clas­sic bas­ket­ball tour­na­ment this week­end. BCB’s girls de­vel­op­ment team went 2-2, with two of their wins against Nova Sco­tia pro­vin­cial teams. The boys de­vel­op­ment team went 2-2, with one of their wins against the even­tual tour­na­ment win­ner, Hal­i­fax Sting. The boys com­pet­i­tive team went 3-1 while beat­ing the P.E.I. and New Brunswick pro­vin­cial teams. BCB also we had an open team, with all Grade 11 play­ers, that played against the pro­vin­cial U-17 team and teams made up of col­lege play­ers. Bas­ket­ball Cape Bre­ton’s com­pet­i­tive boys team is go­ing to the Sum­mer­fest tour­na­ment in Saint John, N.B., this com­ing week­end and BCB’s de­vel­op­ment boys will be go­ing to the Gold Rush tour­na­ment in Wat­ter­ville, Maine, in two weeks time. BCB’s men’s open team will be back in Hal­i­fax at the end of the month to play in the Hal­i­fax Sting in­vi­ta­tional, to end the Bas­ket­ball Cape Bre­ton sea­son.
