Union Grove cemetery committee selling chowder
SCOTCHTOWN — The Union Grove cemetery committee will be holding a seafood chowder dinner on July 24 at the Salvation Army hall, as part of the Coal Dust Days celebrations. The dinner is an annual fundraiser to help pay for the maintenance of cemetery grounds. There will be takeout service from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. and eat-in or takeout from 4-6 p.m. The meal will include seafood chowder, a tea biscuit, oatmeal scones and tea or coffee Tickets are limited. The meal is by ticket only. Tickets are available at Scotiabank on Plummer Avenue, Darren’s Barber Shop, Brine’s Hairstyling, MacSween’s Flower Shop and Ocean Fuels.
