MAXWELL, Daniel Sylvester
Daniel Sylvester Maxwell passed away peacefully on July 12, 2015, at Dartmouth General Hospital.
Born in North Sydney on Aug. 15, 1938, he was the son of the late Gordon and Bridgette (Audoux) Maxwell.
Daniel was a longtime member of Immaculate Conception parish, Sydney Mines. He was a devoted employee of CN Marine, North Sydney, where he worked as a stevedore for over 30 years.
Daniel is survived by his five children, Brian, Edmonton; Colleen, Millville; Patricia, North Sydney; Doug, Kingston, Ont.; Linda, Millcreek. Six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; sisters, Jean Ivy, Peg (Martin) MacIsaac; brothers, Robert (Anne) and John. Along with many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Daniel was predeceased by his daughter, Darlene; brother, Gordon; sisters, Wilma Crews and Janet Snow; brother-in-law, Jim Ivy.
In keeping with Daniel’s wishes cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation. A celebration of his life will be held on Friday, July 17, 2015, at 10 a.m. in Holy Family Church, Sydney Mines, with Fr. J. Oliver officiating. Burial to follow in St. Joseph Cemetery.
