MacNeil to en­ter plea on in­tim­i­da­tion charge

SYD­NEY — A Glace Bay man is to re­turn to pro­vin­cial court July 21 to en­ter pleas on charges in­clud­ing in­tim­i­da­tion of a wit­ness. Mor­gan James MacNeil, 24, cur­rently serv­ing time in a fed­eral prison on rob­bery charges, is charged with in­tim­i­da­tion and breach­ing a court or­der. The of­fences al­legely oc­curred June 2 in Syd­ney when MacNeil al­legedly threat­ened a wit­ness tes­ti­fy­ing at a pre­lim­i­nary hear­ing for MacNeil and Thomas Ted Bar­rett. Both men are charged with sec­ond-de­gree mur­der in con­nec­tion with the death 2012 death of Laura Cather­ine Jessome whose re­mains were found in the Mira River near Mar­ion Bridge. Both ac­cused will stand trial on the charge next year.
