New Water­ford man sen­tenced for re­sist­ing ar­rest

SYD­NEY — A New Water­ford man has pleaded guilty to two of­fences while two oth­ers were dis­missed. Dustin James Gil­lis, 32, pleaded guilty to re­sist­ing ar­rest and breach­ing a court or­der. Charges of as­sault caus­ing bod­ily harm and as­sault­ing a po­lice of­fi­cer were dis­missed Gil­lis was sched­uled to stand trial on all four charges but the Crown ac­cepted a guilty plea on two and dis­missed the re­main­der. Gil­lis was sen­tenced to one day served by his pres­ence in court.
