South­side Boularderie man re­manded pend­ing bail hear­ing

SYD­NEY — A South­side Boularderie man is sched­uled back in pro­vin­cial court Mon­day for a bail hear­ing af­ter be­ing charged with drug and weapon of­fences. Brent Michael MacSween, 29, is charged cul­ti­va­tion of mar­i­juana along with four counts of care­less stor­age of a firearm; four counts of pos­sess­ing a firearm with­out a li­cence; three counts of pos­ses­sion of a firearm know­ing he not have a li­cence; two counts of breach­ing court or­ders; and one count of care­less stor­age of am­mu­ni­tion. He was ar­rested af­ter a joint in­ves­ti­ga­tion by Cape Bre­ton Re­gional Po­lice and RCMP who searched a home Wed­nes­day on Hill­side Boularderie Road. Of­fi­cers seized sev­eral mar­i­juana plants. MacSween made a brief court ap­pear­ance Thurs­day and was re­manded pend­ing a bail hear­ing
