New Water­ford man sen­tenced fo sev­eral of­fences

SYD­NEY — Hav­ing al­ready served 135 days on re­mand, a New Water­ford man re­ceived an ad­di­tional two-month jail sen­tence and pro­ba­tion af­ter plead­ing guilty to sev­eral of­fences. Ryan Mark MacDougall, 25, was sen­tenced on four counts of breach­ing court or­ders, three counts of as­sault, and sin­gle counts of theft, break and en­ter, fraud, mis­chief in giv­ing a false name to po­lice and driv­ing with a blood-al­co­hol level ex­ceed­ing the le­gal limit. The of­fences oc­curred be­tween 2001 and ear­lier this year in Syd­ney, New Water­ford and Dart­mouth. MacDougall was also or­dered to com­plete a two-year pro­ba­tion pe­riod and to pay $1,300 in resti­tu­tion. He was also fined $1,400 for the driv­ing vi­o­la­tion and had his li­cence sus­pended for one year.
