ER closure announced

Cape Breton Post - - GLACE BAY/NEW WATERFORD -

NEW WATERFORD — The emergency department at the New Waterford Consolidated Hospital will be temporarily closed Tuesday at 7 a.m. until Wednesday at 7 a.m. Officials with the Nova Scotia Health Authority say this closure is necessary because of the unavailability of physicians to cover the shift. Residents are asked to note the emergency department is not open in the evenings, overnight or on Sundays and Mondays. New Waterford area residents needing emergency service should call 911, or go to the emergency department at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital. Residents with a non-urgent health matter can call Health Link 811 to talk to a registered nurse.
