DOUGLAS, Anne Corinne
It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our loving wife, mother, and grandmother, Anne Corinne (Hurd) Douglas, 66, North Sydney. Anne passed away at home on July 16, 2015 with her loving family by her side.
Born in North Sydney on July 26, 1948, Anne was the eldest daughter of the late Albert Hurd and Gertie (Burchell) Cordero.
Anne lived most of her adult life in Big Bras d’Or, but currently had been living in North Sydney for the last 12 years. Anne graduated from Cape Breton Business College as a senior stenographer in 1967. She was also an employee of the Bank of Nova Scotia for a period of time.
Anne is survived by her loving husband of 43 years, Brian Douglas; children, Corinne (Derek) Selfridge, Andrea (Lee Laffin) Douglas, Christopher (Tammy) Douglas; grandchildren, Brianna, Isabel and Jacob; brothers, Martin (Winnie), Halifax, Jackie (Linda), Bras d’Or, Gerard (Rhonda), North Sydney; sisters, Mary Jo Keeping, Sydney Mines, Therese ( Jim) MacLeod, Eastern Passage, Pauline (Brian) White, Millville; numerous nieces and nephews, a very dear friend Arlene Lyle; along with her mother’s second husband, Oscar Cordero.
In keeping with Anne’s wishes cremation has taken place. A visitation will held on Sunday, July 19, 2015 from 2-4 p.m. in the J.M. Jobes Funeral Home, 635 Main St., Sydney Mines.
