It is with great sad­ness that we an­nounce the sud­den pass­ing of our lov­ing wife, mother, and grand­mother, Anne Corinne (Hurd) Dou­glas, 66, North Syd­ney. Anne passed away at home on July 16, 2015 with her lov­ing fam­ily by her side.

Born in North Syd­ney on July 26, 1948, Anne was the eldest daugh­ter of the late Al­bert Hurd and Ger­tie (Burchell) Cordero.

Anne lived most of her adult life in Big Bras d’Or, but cur­rently had been liv­ing in North Syd­ney for the last 12 years. Anne grad­u­ated from Cape Bre­ton Busi­ness Col­lege as a se­nior stenog­ra­pher in 1967. She was also an em­ployee of the Bank of Nova Sco­tia for a pe­riod of time.

Anne is sur­vived by her lov­ing hus­band of 43 years, Brian Dou­glas; chil­dren, Corinne (Derek) Sel­fridge, An­drea (Lee Laf­fin) Dou­glas, Christo­pher (Tammy) Dou­glas; grand­chil­dren, Brianna, Is­abel and Ja­cob; broth­ers, Martin (Win­nie), Hal­i­fax, Jackie (Linda), Bras d’Or, Ger­ard (Rhonda), North Syd­ney; sis­ters, Mary Jo Keep­ing, Syd­ney Mines, Therese ( Jim) MacLeod, Eastern Pas­sage, Pauline (Brian) White, Mil­lville; nu­mer­ous nieces and neph­ews, a very dear friend Ar­lene Lyle; along with her mother’s sec­ond hus­band, Os­car Cordero.

In keep­ing with Anne’s wishes cre­ma­tion has taken place. A vis­i­ta­tion will held on Sun­day, July 19, 2015 from 2-4 p.m. in the J.M. Jobes Fu­neral Home, 635 Main St., Syd­ney Mines.
