We are sad­dened to an­nounce the pass­ing of our beloved fa­ther Clifford Tay­lor, age 93, of North Syd­ney, on Fri­day, July 17, 2015 at the North­side Gen­eral Hos­pi­tal.

Clifford was born on June 28, 1922 in Grand Bruit on the South­west coast of New­found­land to the late John and Har­riet (Billard) Tay­lor and be­ing one of eight chil­dren, he was raised by his aunt and un­cle Gor­don and Mel­ida Miles.

Dad left home at a young age to work on the wa­ter fish­ing and later work­ing ocean go­ing tug boats, that took him many places from Ber­muda to the Azores. His trav­els brought him to North Syd­ney where he worked on the con­struc­tion of St. El­iz­a­beth Hos­pi­tal and on its com­ple­tion con­tin­ued to work there as a sta­tion­ary engi­neer un­til his re­tire­ment in 1987.

It was here in North Syd­ney where he met his late wife Mar­garet (Mor­ris), and they raised a fam­ily of four, his sons Gor­don (Na­dine) Tay­lor, Syd­ney Mines and their chil­dren Alana and Kyle, David (Ar­lene) Tay­lor, Lit­tle Har­bour, Pic­tou County and chil- dren Greg and De­bralee; his daugh­ters Dar­lene (Gor­don) Carter, Ge­orges River, Anne (Scott) Mosher, Fall River and their chil­dren Ash­ley and David and sev­eral great-grand­chil­dren. He is also sur­vived by a sis­ter Hazel d ma, brother Wil­fred Tay­lor, both in Cor­ner Brook, N.L., by sev­eral sis­ters and broth­ers-in­law, nu­mer­ous nieces and neph­ews.

He was pre­de­ceased by his wife Mar­garet Tay­lor in 2007 and by his broth­ers Bill, Jack, Gil­bert, Jim and sis­ter Joan.

Vis­i­ta­tion for Clifford will be held from 9:30-11 a.m. on Mon­day and fu­neral ser­vice to fol­low at 11 a.m. in the W.J. Doo­ley Fu­neral Home Chapel with Rev. Pa­trick O’Neill of­fi­ci­at­ing. Burial will fol­low in Holy Cross Ceme­tery, North Syd­ney.
