Putnams Power rallied in the stretch drive for Harold LeBlanc Jr. to upset the winners over in 1:59.4 to highlight an 11-dash card of harness racing on Saturday at Northside Downs.

The seven-year-old gelding, owned by Willie Seymour, sat inside in the early going as Got-faithin cowboys and Junebugs Baby battled through fractions of 29.3 and 59.2, before Junebugs Baby would eventually clear to the lead just before the three quarters. Putnams Power found racing room in the stretch, however, to collar Junebugs Baby on the line by a neck, with Pictonian Speed third. Members of the Royal Canadian Legion branch in North Sydney were on hand to make cooler presentations throughout the afternoon to the winning horses and drivers.

Jason MacNeil led all drivers on the card with a pair of wins. MacNeil guided TM Over The Top to his first win of the season in 2:01. The eight-year-old by Western Paradise won by two lengths over Princetown Jory, with D Island Rebel third. Lawrence MacLean is the winning owner.

Like a thunder bolt used a three wide move off the final turn to prevail in 2:03.3 for MacNeils second win. Snowbound, who led for most of the mile, finished second, beaten just by a head, with Broadway Bill third, a half length back. Like a thunder bolt is owned and trained by Brian MacNeil.

Two-year-old filly Dixie Lullaby is now two for two lifetime after winning in 2:03.4 for John Willie Beaton. She won by three and a half lengths over Eastern Eden, with Paradise Skies third. Johnny Heffernan is the winning owner.
