MCMULLIN, Lenora Patricia
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Nora McMullin, age 91, a resident of 80 Regent St., North Sydney on Sunday, July 19, 2015 at the Northside General Hospital. Born in North Sydney, Nora was the daughter of the late William and Bridget (Brennan) MacDougall.
Nora was a kind and thoughtful lady who was always thinking of others. She was a member of St. Joseph Church North Sydney.
Nora is survived by her sister, Margaret ‘Mickey’ Fleming of Windsor, Ont., by special nieces Ann Bouchard and Nadine McMullin, nephew Bernie Kelly and many other nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her ‘daughter by choice’ Kimmy Painchaud, her special friends, Rose Anthony and Irma Carmichael, as well as her faithful companion Candy, who remained by her side to the end. Also by her stepson Donald McMullin of London Ont.
Nora was predeceased by her first husband, Bill Fleming, her second husband, Donald McMullin, a sister, Rita, and brothers, Peter, Angus, Charlie, Jim ‘Moon’ and Bernard.
The family would like to take this opportunity to thank Dr. Peter Poulos and the staff of palliative care at the Northside General Hospital for the excellent care and compassion shown to Nora.
Visitation for Nora will be held from 9:30 to 10:00 a.m. Thursday, July 23, 2015, in the W.J. Dooley Funeral Home, 107 Pleasant St., North Sydney, with funeral service to follow at 10 a.m., Rev. Patrick O’Neill officiating. Burial will take place in Holy Cross Cemetery, North Sydney.
Memorial donations may be made to the palliative-care unit of the Northside General Hospital.
