Bail hear­ing set for Al­bert Bridge man

SYD­NEY — An Al­bert Bridge man will be back in court Fri­day for a bail hear­ing. An­drew Phillip MacIn­tyre, 33, was re­manded to jail last week from his hos­pi­tal bed where he was re­cov­er­ing a from a bro­ken leg af­ter he al­legedly fled a ve­hi­cle stopped by Cape Bre­ton Re­gional Po­lice. He was charged by po­lice with two counts of breach­ing the con­di­tions of his re­lease. At the time of his most re­cent ar­rest, MacIn­tyre was on con­di­tions hav­ing been charged pre­vi­ously with two counts of as­sault, two counts of ut­ter­ing threats and sin­gle counts of forcible en­try and mis­chief. When po­lice stopped a ve­hi­cle in Syd­ney last week, a pas­sen­ger fled the ve­hi­cle but was soon ap­pre­hended. The man suf­fered a bro­ken leg. The in­jury is now un­der in­ves­ti­ga­tion by mem­bers of the Se­ri­ous In­ci­dent Re­sponse Team.
