Pre­lim­i­nary hear­ing set in triple mur­der case

HAL­I­FAX — The lawyer for a man charged in the deaths of three peo­ple in a house fire in the Hal­i­fax area says his client is slated to re­turn to court early next year for a pre­lim­i­nary hear­ing. Mal­colm Jef­f­cock says his client, Codey Regi­nald Hen­ni­gar of Wyses Cor­ner, N.S., will re­turn to pro­vin­cial court in Dart­mouth on Jan. 8. Hen­ni­gar was charged with three counts of sec­ond-de­gree mur­der af­ter the re­mains of three peo­ple were dis­cov­ered on Jan. 7, 2015. The re­mains of Clifford Wil­liam Ward, 81, Raye Ward, 74, and Mil­dred Ann Ward, 54, were found in a ru­ral home about 25 kilo­me­tres north­east of Hal­i­fax’s air­port. Po­lice haven’t dis­cussed the re­la­tion­ships be­tween the de­ceased and the ac­cused. The Cana­dian Press
