It is with great sad­ness that we, the fam­ily, an­nounce the pass­ing of our fa­ther, Thomas Al­bert Camp­bell, at the Cape Bre­ton Re­gional Hos­pi­tal, Syd­ney. He passed away peace­fully on Mon­day, July 20, 2015, af­ter a coura­geous bat­tle with can­cer, sur­rounded by his lov­ing fam­ily.

Born in Syd­ney on Dec. 11, 1924, Tom was the son of the late Lil­lian Edith (Grant­myre) and Daniel Camp­bell.

Tom is sur­vived by his four chil­dren, Thomas Wil­liam ( Diane) Camp­bell, Lana ( Robert) Ma­honey, Linda (Don­ald) Arse­nault and Sheldon (Leona) Camp­bell. Also sur­viv­ing are his grand­chil­dren, Tommy, Lau­rie- Anne, Diane, Amanda, Jonathan, Anne, Mathew, David and Cait­lyn, as well as 11 great-grand­chil­dren and three great-great-grand­chil­dren.

Pre­de­ceas­ing Tom were his wife, Eleanor Geral­dine (Car­son) and his brother, Harry Camp­bell.

Tom worked as an auto me­chanic and body me­chanic for most of his life. He loved a chal­lenge and took great pride and plea­sure in restor­ing ve­hi­cles to their for­mer con­di­tion. His love of learn­ing new things con­tin­ued through­out his life.

Dad be­lieved that no mat­ter how much you had, if you didn’t have the love of your fam­ily you had noth­ing at all. Dad died a wealthy man.

Vis­i­ta­tion will be held Thurs­day, July 23, 2015, and Fri­day, July 24, 2015, from 2- 4 and 7-9 p.m. at the S.W. Chant & Son Fu­neral Home, 564 Alexan­dra St., Syd­ney. Fu­neral ser­vice will take place 11 a.m. Satur­day, July 25, 2015, at Christ the King Parish, Syd­ney, with Rev. Ver­non Reid of­fi­ci­at­ing.
