It is with great sad­ness that we an­nounce the peace­ful pass­ing of our mother and grand­mother, Ethel Dolores LeBlanc Poirier, at the Glace Bay Hos­pi­tal on Satur­day, July 18, 2015.

Born in Glace Bay on Feb. 2, 1931, to Peter Hib­bert and Ethel Rose­mary (Bour­geois) De­vi­son, Dolores is sur­vived by her lov­ing sons, Joe (Nan) Poirier, Blaine ( Sonya) Poirier and Vaughn (Tanya) Poirier and grand­chil­dren, Jeff, An­drew, Joey and Katie. She is also sur­vived by her sis­ters, Ann Marie Lynk (Hugh Lynch), Paula Stull, On­tario, Theresa Jack­man, On­tario; broth­ers, Charles (Dolly), On­tario and Vin­cent (He­len LeBlanc), Re­serve Mines; as well as by her many nieces and neph­ews and their fam­i­lies in Canada and the United States.

Dolores was pre­de­ceased by her par­ents Ethel and Hib­bert, sis­ters, Joan Marie Samp­son and Sis­ter Yvonne De­vi­son of the Sis­ters of Char­ity, and by her hus­bands, Joseph G. Poirier and Joseph R. LeBlanc.

Spe­cial thanks to Dr. Boutilier and the nurs­ing staff at the Glace Bay Hos­pi­tal for their sup­port and their won­der­ful, com­pas­sion­ate, pro­fes­sional care of our mother.

There will be no vis­i­ta­tion. Cre­ma­tion has taken place. A fu­neral mass will take place on Tues­day, July 28, 2015, at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Church, Main Street, Re­serve Mines, with Fr. Dan Boudreau of­fi­ci­at­ing. In­ter­ment will take place in St. Joseph’s Ceme­tery.

Me­mo­rial do­na­tions in Dolores’s name may be made to Cana­dian Can­cer So­ci­ety, the pal­lia­tive-care unit of the Cape Bre­ton Re­gional Hos­pi­tal or a char­ity of one’s choice.
