Police locate missing van and arrest two males
A 15-year-old Sydney boy was released from custody Wednesday after being charged with stealing a car.
The youth is now charged with theft over $5,000 and two counts of breaching court or- ders. He is scheduled to enter pleas to the charges Aug. 26. He was released on a host of conditions.
A second accused, an 18-yearold New Waterford man, has been charged with taking a vehicle without consent and breaching court orders. He is scheduled to appear in provincial court Sept. 28. His name was not released as the information is not yet filed with the court.
The pair is charged in connection with a report of a theft of a cube van Tuesday night in Sydney.
According to Cape Breton Regional Police, the van was spotted in Eskasoni and with assistance from Eskasoni RCMP, two suspects were identified.
Both were located in the First Nation community and arrested without incident. The vehicle was recovered.
