Born in Belleville, Ont., Nov. 22, 1960, to John and the late Wilma Overdijk.

Norm is sur­vived by his wife Mur­dena ( Jenk­ins) of 25 years; sons Joshua and Luke and daugh­ter Lu­cia ( his spe­cial an­gel); fa­ther John; brother Her­man (Yvonne); many nieces and neph­ews. He also leaves be­hind his spe­cial com­pan­ions Lily and Thun­der.

Norm was a ‘ one-of-a-kind guy’ and touched many peo­ples lives. He made life­time friends wher­ever in the world he went. He lived life to the fullest and loved peo­ple no mat­ter who they were or where they lived, but most of all his three chil­dren were his pride and joy. He was a avid poker player and his style was not to sit around wait­ing to win, it was “all you can eat baby.”

Norm will be sadly missed by all his ex­tended fam­ily and friends which are many. Life will never be the same with­out you Norm!

A cel­e­bra­tion of life will take place at Greenwood United Church on Satur­day, July 25 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Ali­son Et­ter of­fi­ci­at­ing.

In lieu of flow­ers, do­na­tions can be made to a char­ity of your choice. There will be a cel­e­bra­tion in Dart­mouth at Montes Show Bar Wed­nes­day, July 29 be­tween 3-9 p.m. Fu­neral un­der the di­rec­tion of MacAskill Fu­neral Home, Baddeck, N.S.
