By­stander hit by gun­fire at Hal­i­fax bar

HAL­I­FAX — Po­lice say a 23-yearold man stand­ing in­side a Hal­i­fax bar was hit by gun­fire from a per­son out­side in­volved in an al­ter­ca­tion with some­one else. The shoot­ing hap­pened just be­fore 2 a.m. Thurs­day at the Sea­horse Tav­ern at 2037 Got­tin­gen St. Hal­i­fax Re­gional Po­lice say an al­ter­ca­tion was hap­pen­ing be­hind the bar be­tween two men, one of whom was be­ing robbed, when shots were fired. One of the rounds went through the wall and hit the vic­tim in­side the pop­u­lar wa­ter­ing hole. He was taken to hos­pi­tal with non-life threat­en­ing in­juries. “Mul­ti­ple shots were fired and the vic­tim (of the shoot­ing) was in­side,” said Hal­i­fax Re­gional Po­lice spokes­woman Const. Stacey Opalka. “He was hit by one of the shots.”
