With bro­ken hearts we an­nounce the sud­den pass­ing of Lyle Fer­gu­son Eady, age 70, on Wed­nes­day, July 22, 2015, at the Cape Bre­ton Re­gional Hos­pi­tal. A lov­ing hus­band, fa­ther, grand­fa­ther, brother and friend to many. Lyle was born in Mon­treal, Que. on July 28, 1944, and raised in Brockville, Ont., he was the son of the late Dun­can and Sadie (Strickland) Eady.

Lyle moved to North Syd­ney 45 years ago and im­me­di­ately be­came a Cape Bre­toner. He worked as a C.E.T. for Camp­bell Con­sul­tants and then owned and op­er­ated Ap­ple Auto Glass un­til his re­tire­ment. Lyle will be re­mem­bered for his con­ta­gious smile and hu­mour with ev­ery­one he met. He en­joyed an­tique cars and as a hobby cus­tom­ized and painted ve­hi­cles.

Left to mourn is his best friend and love of his life, his wife Dul­cie (An­der­son) Eady, his daugh­ters Jan­ice (Leo) For­rest and their chil­dren Kiana (Austin), Ken­dra and Lee (Maude), North Syd­ney; Kim­ber­ley (Arnie) Ver­schuren and their chil­dren Ale­cia and Mitchell, North Syd­ney; and his son Lawrence (Tracey) and their chil­dren Sa­man­tha and Madi­lyn, Dart­mouth. Also sur­viv­ing are his two broth­ers Les (Brenda) Eady, Ren­frew, On­tario, David (Shan­non) Eady, Grand Prairie, Alta., sis­ter-in-law Myr­tle (Ed­die) MacDougall, North Syd­ney; and many beloved aunts, un­cles, nieces, neph­ews, cousins and many friends.

Be­sides his par­ents, Lyle was pre­de­ceased by his brother and sis­ter-in-law Bob and Colleen Eady, his sis­ter-in-law Sue Anne Eady, his fa­ther and mother-in­law Alex and Beatrice An­der­son, and nephew Stephen MacDougall.

Vis­i­ta­tion for Lyle will be held from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Sun­day in the W.J. Doo­ley Fu­neral Home, 107 Pleas­ant St., North Syd­ney. Fu­neral ser­vice to be held at 11 a.m. Mon­day in the fu­neral home chapel and burial to fol­low in Lakeside Ceme­tery, North Syd­ney.

In lieu of flow­ers, me­mo­rial do­na­tions may be made to the North Syd­ney branch of Cape Bre­ton Re­gional Li­brary, Cana­dian Di­a­betes As­so­ci­a­tion or a char­ity of choice.
