EADY, Lyle F.
With broken hearts we announce the sudden passing of Lyle Ferguson Eady, age 70, on Wednesday, July 22, 2015, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital. A loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend to many. Lyle was born in Montreal, Que. on July 28, 1944, and raised in Brockville, Ont., he was the son of the late Duncan and Sadie (Strickland) Eady.
Lyle moved to North Sydney 45 years ago and immediately became a Cape Bretoner. He worked as a C.E.T. for Campbell Consultants and then owned and operated Apple Auto Glass until his retirement. Lyle will be remembered for his contagious smile and humour with everyone he met. He enjoyed antique cars and as a hobby customized and painted vehicles.
Left to mourn is his best friend and love of his life, his wife Dulcie (Anderson) Eady, his daughters Janice (Leo) Forrest and their children Kiana (Austin), Kendra and Lee (Maude), North Sydney; Kimberley (Arnie) Verschuren and their children Alecia and Mitchell, North Sydney; and his son Lawrence (Tracey) and their children Samantha and Madilyn, Dartmouth. Also surviving are his two brothers Les (Brenda) Eady, Renfrew, Ontario, David (Shannon) Eady, Grand Prairie, Alta., sister-in-law Myrtle (Eddie) MacDougall, North Sydney; and many beloved aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
Besides his parents, Lyle was predeceased by his brother and sister-in-law Bob and Colleen Eady, his sister-in-law Sue Anne Eady, his father and mother-inlaw Alex and Beatrice Anderson, and nephew Stephen MacDougall.
Visitation for Lyle will be held from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Sunday in the W.J. Dooley Funeral Home, 107 Pleasant St., North Sydney. Funeral service to be held at 11 a.m. Monday in the funeral home chapel and burial to follow in Lakeside Cemetery, North Sydney.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the North Sydney branch of Cape Breton Regional Library, Canadian Diabetes Association or a charity of choice.
