North Syd­ney

It is with heart­felt sad­ness we an­nounce the peace­ful pass­ing of Rod­die MacIsaac, age 53, on Wed­nes­day, July 22, 2015, at the North­side Gen­eral Hos­pi­tal, af­ter a coura­geous bat­tle with can­cer, sur­rounded by his lov­ing fam­ily.

Born in North Syd­ney on July 1, 1962, he was the son of Martin and Mar­garet ‘Peggy’ (Maxwell) MacIsaac.

Rod­die worked for the last num­ber of years along­side his brother Al­lis­ter at Cape Bre­ton Fenc­ing. He was an avid out­doors­man, en­joy­ing fish­ing and hunt­ing with his good friends John and Ann Buchanan and Randy and Ni­cole McGraw. He was also an avid Mon­treal Cana­di­ens fan. He was a mem­ber of St. Joseph Church, North Syd­ney.

Be­sides his par­ents Peggy and Martin, Rod­die is sur­vived by his lov­ing wife Mary Lou Burt, his two sons Jason (Tammy), Bras d’Or, Jeffrey (Danielle), North Syd­ney, one daugh­ter Ter­ri­lyn ( Jeff), at home, his two beau­ti­ful grand­chil­dren Han­nah and Madisyn, his broth­ers Al­lis­ter (Edith), North Syd­ney, Dar­rell (Leona), Syd­ney Mines, Martin (Tracy), North Syd­ney, his sis­ters Diane (Lloyd) Gil­lis, North Syd­ney, Martina (Wayne) King, New Glas­gow, Sharon (Eric) MacLeod, Syd­ney Mines, Ce­cilia (Wil­lis) Ayres, North Syd­ney, Mau­reen (David) Devoe, North Syd­ney, many nieces and neph­ews, and his best friend Ger­ard Mac­Don­ald.

There will be no vis­i­ta­tion by re­quest, cre­ma­tion has taken place. A fu­neral mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Satur­day at St. Joseph Church with Rev. Pa­trick O’Neill of­fi­ci­at­ing. Burial will fol­low in Holy Cross Ceme­tery, North Syd­ney.
