Cape Bre­toner on ‘De­fi­ance’

Episode will be shown Sun­day night

Cape Bre­ton’s Billy MacLel­lan will ap­pear on this week’s episode of the Syfy Net­work show “De­fi­ance.”

The show will air on Sun­day, July 26, at 10 p.m. on Show­case.

“De­fi­ance” is set in 2048 as a frag­ile peace that had been struck be­tween hu­mans and the aliens that in­vaded Earth decades ear­lier, is threat­ened. MacLel­lan is ap­pear­ing in the show’s third sea­son in the role of Lt. Bebe.

MacLel­lan is also ap­pear­ing this year in a cou­ple of other Syfy Net­work se­ries — “12 Mon­keys” and “The Ex­panse.”

MacLel­lan, a na­tive of East Bay, has a long list of cred­its in­clud­ing roles in TV se­ries like “Mur­doch Mys­ter­ies,” “Bomb Girls,” “Com­bat Hos­pi­tal,” “Re­pub­lic of Doyle,” “Rookie Blue,” “The Bor­der,” “Cracked,” “Nikita,” and “Rem­edy,” as well as sev­eral films.

He has also won an Al­liance of Cana­dian Cin­ema Tele­vi­sion and Ra­dio Artists (ACTRA) Award for out­stand­ing voice per­for­mance for his work in the ra­dio se­ries “Afghanada.”
