Sydney accused to undergo assessment
SYDNEY — A 20-year-old Sydney man is to undergo a 30day psychiatric evaluation prior to entering pleas on a host of sex offences. Harry James Warner of Charlotte Street is charged with four counts of assault, three counts of breaching court orders, two counts of abduction of a person under the age of 16, and single counts of sexual assault, forcible confinement and sexual interference. The offences allegedly occurred between April and July in Sydney. During a provincial court appearance Friday, Warner’s defence lawyer requested the court grant an application for an assessment to determine whether the accused is criminally responsible for his actions. The assessment will be conducted at the East Coast Forensic Centre in Dartmouth. Warner, who was previously denied bail, is now scheduled back in provincial court Aug. 21.
