Plea date set for North Syd­ney man

SYD­NEY — A North Syd­ney man is now ex­pected to en­ter pleas to a host of of­fences dur­ing a pro­vin­cial court ap­pear­ance on Aug. 10. Don­ald Alexan­der Dun­phy, 38, of Maple­view Drive is charged with break and en­ter, two counts of mis­chief re­lat­ing to prop­erty dam­age, theft and breach­ing court or­ders. He is charged in con­nec­tion with a break-in at a North Syd­ney busi­nesses dur­ing which tools were among the items taken. The in­ci­dent oc­curred July 22. Dun­phy con­tin­ues to be on re­mand at the Cape Bre­ton Cor­rec­tional Cen­tre. He is also fac­ing un­re­lated charges deal­ing with two counts of breach­ing court or­ders, which al­legedly oc­curred in May.
