How it’s played:

• In Week 1, the game starts with 52 cards in the deck. • Raffle-style tickets are sold for a designated period (two or three hours) at the same time each week. • The winner of each draw claims a percentage (usually around 20 per cent) of that week’s ticket sales. • About 30 per cent goes toward the jackpot and the remaining 50 per cent is split between the hosting establishment and a charity. • The winner must be present to collect, otherwise a new ticket is drawn. • If any card other than the ace of spades is drawn, it is removed from the deck and the jackpot moves on to the following week along with the smaller deck. • If the ace of spades is picked by the draw winner, then the jackpot has been won and a new game will start the next week.
