Logger found dead near Little Narrows
Cause of death not considered suspicious
A forestry worker has been found dead in the woods near Little Narrows.
At about 9:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Baddeck RCMP responded to a call about a man who had not returned from his work as a skidder operator in the Little Narrows area.
A search ensured involving ground search-and-rescue personnel, the RCMP’s police dog service, members of the Iona Volunteer Fire Department and workers from a nearby mining operation.
After several hours of searching, the body of the 54-year-old man was found just past midnight near the logging equipment.
According to RCMP, the cause of death does not appear to be suspicious, although the investigation continues.
The Nova Scotia medical examiner’s office and the Nova Scotia Department of Labour have also been notified.
