Officers from the Department of Labour and Advanced Education’s occupational health and safety division continue to investigate the death of a forestry worker found in the woods Tuesday in Little Narrows, Victoria County.

Officers are continuing to gather evidence at the site and will be interviewing ground search and rescue volunteers involved in the search.

This is the sixth workplace fatality this year resulting from a sudden accident. Nineteen Nova Scotians died at work or as a result of a work-related illness in 2014.

“This man’s family and loved ones have been in my thoughts since I got word of the accident,” said Kelly Regan, Minister of Labour and Advanced Education, in a release Thursday. “This is a very difficult time.”
