For­mer de­fence­man Leo Reise Jr. dies

For­mer Detroit Wing Rings de­fence­man Leo Reise Jr. has died. He was 93.

The Reds Wings said Thurs­day that Reise died Sun­day in Hamil­ton, On­tario.

Reise had 21 goals and 61 as­sists in 340 games for Detroit from 1946- 52. He was a four- time All- Star with the Red Wings and played on Detroit’s 1950 and 1952 Stan­ley Cup cham­pion teams.

The Stoney Creek, On­tario, na­tive also played for Chicago and New York in his nine-sea­son NHL ca­reer that ended in 1953. He had 28 goals and 51 in 494 ca­reer reg­u­lar- sea­son games, and added eight goals and five as­sists in 52 play­off games.

His fa­ther also played in the NHL.
