• What is UIT?

UIT is a startup im­mer­sion pro­gram with a mis­sion to de­velop startup founders through a pro­gram where stu­dents learn the tech­ni­cal and busi­ness skills used by the world’s most suc­cess­ful star­tups.

• How was UIT cre­ated?

It was founded by Cape Bre­ton Univer­sity alum­nus Gavin Uhma, the co-founder of tech startup, GoIn­stant, which was ac­quired by Sales­force.com in 2012. UIT is in a part­ner­ship with the CBU Shan­non School of Busi­ness.

• Who teaches UIT?

The open-source cur­ricu­lum is de­signed by a global group of proven en­trepreneurs and tech­nol­ogy pro­fes­sion­als, some of whom serve as vol­un­teer men­tors to the stu­dent co­hort. Stu­dents also at­tend a CBU busi­ness class on cam­pus each se­mes­ter.
