Typo spotted on sign that directs traffic to the Marine Atlantic ferry terminal.
Something’s up with the sign that directs traffic to the Marine Atlantic’s ferry terminal in North Sydney.
“There was an obvious spelling mistake on a new sign that was installed around Marine Atlantic’s ferry terminal,” said Roy MacDonald, Department of Transportation and Infrastructure’s area manager. “We’ve been working on new signs all winter and we just installed a bunch over the last two weeks.”
The sign reads ‘Nlfd Ferry’ and it should say ‘Nfld Ferry.’
MacDonald said the Transportation Department has a fairly large production facility in Truro that makes all the highway signs for the province.
“It was obviously a production error in making that particular sign that didn’t get picked up,” he said.
“We are going to install a temporary panel today (Tuesday).
“It was a mistake, we recognize that and it will be changed. There are two new panels on the way from the sign shop and they will be installed as soon as we get them.”
There was a buzz on Facebook Tuesday after someone spotted a typo in the sign that directs traffic to Marine Atlantic’s ferry terminal in North Sydney.
