Sydney woman facing more breach charges
SYDNEY — For a third time this month, a Sydney woman is behind bars after being charged with breaching her release conditions. Ashley Nicole MacDonald, 29, was arrested Sunday and charged with uttering a threat and three counts of breaching her release conditions. MacDonald was initially arrested earlier this month and charged with two counts of breaching court orders and single counts of aggravated assault, assault with a weapon ( a hammer) and assault. All of the offences allegedly occurred between March 9 and March 16 in Sydney. She is scheduled to enter pleas on those charges May 2. MacDonald was released on conditions on those charges but within hours was back in police custody after being charged with breaching the conditions. She pleaded guilty to a single breach and uttering a threat and is now scheduled to be sentenced June 6. She was again granted release last week but after three days of freedom, MacDonald was once again charged with breaching her conditions. She is scheduled back in provincial court today for a bail hearing.
