Syd­ney woman fac­ing more breach charges

SYD­NEY — For a third time this month, a Syd­ney woman is be­hind bars af­ter be­ing charged with breach­ing her re­lease con­di­tions. Ash­ley Ni­cole MacDon­ald, 29, was ar­rested Sun­day and charged with ut­ter­ing a threat and three counts of breach­ing her re­lease con­di­tions. MacDon­ald was ini­tially ar­rested ear­lier this month and charged with two counts of breach­ing court or­ders and sin­gle counts of ag­gra­vated as­sault, as­sault with a weapon ( a ham­mer) and as­sault. All of the of­fences al­legedly oc­curred be­tween March 9 and March 16 in Syd­ney. She is sched­uled to en­ter pleas on those charges May 2. MacDon­ald was re­leased on con­di­tions on those charges but within hours was back in police cus­tody af­ter be­ing charged with breach­ing the con­di­tions. She pleaded guilty to a sin­gle breach and ut­ter­ing a threat and is now sched­uled to be sen­tenced June 6. She was again granted re­lease last week but af­ter three days of free­dom, MacDon­ald was once again charged with breach­ing her con­di­tions. She is sched­uled back in pro­vin­cial court today for a bail hear­ing.
