Dozier leads Twins past Blue Jays

FORT MY­ERS, Fla. — Brian Dozier led off a sec­ond straight game with a hit and a run scored as the Min­nesota Twins beat the Blue Jays 4-3 on Wed­nes­day. A day af­ter scor­ing on a first­pitch home run against the Bos­ton Red Sox, Dozier led off with a sin­gle, ad­vanced to sec­ond on Danny San­tana’s sin­gle and scored on Joe Mauer’s sin­gle. The Twins added two runs in the sec­ond in­ning when San­tana’s triple scored Kurt Suzuki and Darin Mas­troianni, who reached on con­sec­u­tive one- out sin­gles. The Blue Jays bat­ted around in the fifth in­ning, scor­ing three runs, in­clud­ing two RBIs by Casey Kotch­man, and chas­ing Twins starter Ervin San­tana. Dozier and Mas­troianni each had two hits and scored a run, and San­tana had three hits — be­ing a home run shy of the cy­cle — with two RBIs and a run scored. Domonic Brown had two hits for Toronto.
