GLACE BAY — Re­hearsals have be­gun for “The Wiz­ard of Oz,” which will open April 22 at the Savoy The­atre. This ver­sion of the pop­u­lar story based on the 1939 mo­tion pic­ture in­cludes such beloved songs as “Over the Rain­bow” and “If I Only Had a Brain.” Direc­tor Robyn Cath­cart is joined by mu­sic direc­tor Barb Stet­ter and pro­duc­tion man­ager and pro­ducer, Cyn­thia La­hey. The cast in­cludes Colin Ap­ple­ton as “The Cowardly Lion;” Bran­don Cara­bin as “The Scare­crow;” Ron New­combe as “The Tin­man;” Kayla Coolen as “Glinda;” Cameron MacDon­ald as “The Wiz­ard of Oz;” and MacKen­zie Sechi as “Dorothy.” “The Wiz­ard of Oz” will run April 22, April 23 and will con­clude with a mati­nee per­for­mance on April 24.
