Cormier seeks re-election to CBRM council

-

NEW WATERFORD — New Waterford educator and sportsman Lowell Cormier has once again thrown his hat into the ring as he has announced his intent to seek re-election in the upcoming municipal election. The 67-year-old incumbent District 11 councillor was acclaimed in the 2012 vote, but is being challenged this time by Scotchtown political activist Kendra Coombs. Cormier, who spent the last three years as a full-time councillor after retiring as Mount Carmel Elementary School principal, says he will continue to work hard on behalf of District 11 residents. “My only promise is that I will draw on my experiences as an educator and longtime community volunteer to give our residents the representation they deserve,” he said. Cormier and wife Christena have two sons and two grandchildren.
