It is with deep sad­ness and heavy hearts that we, the fam­ily, an­nounce the pass­ing of Nathan Gre­gory MacMullin, 26, on Sun­day, Jan­uary 29, 2017.

Born in Syd­ney, he was a son of Cora MacMullin and the late Wil­liam ‘Billy’ Pole­gato.

Nathan loved an­i­mals and would do any­thing in his power to keep them safe. He also en­joyed fix­ing bi­cy­cles and build­ing var­i­ous things in his yard. Nathan was artis­tic; his escape was lis­ten­ing to al­ter­na­tive mu­sic. He also re­ceived great plea­sure out of draw­ing, writ­ing lyrics and po­etry, singing and danc­ing. Noth­ing com­pared, how­ever, to the love of his close fam­ily and friends.

Sur­viv­ing are his mother, Cora MacMullin, New Water­ford; lit­tle brother, An­drew MacMullin, Calgary; baby sis­ter, Sunni Jayne; god­mother, Theresa Ho­gan; god­fa­ther, Michael MacMullin, all of New Water­ford; many aunts and un­cles.

Be­sides his fa­ther, Nathan was pre­de­ceased by one son, baby Noah; ma­ter­nal grand­par­ents, Mary (Ho­gan) MacMullin and Al­bert Payne; pa­ter­nal grand­fa­ther, Fred­er­ick Pole­gato.

Cre­ma­tion has taken place. A pri­vate funeral ser­vice will be held in V.J. McGil­livray Funeral Home Chapel, New Water­ford, with Rev. Dun­can Roach of­fi­ci­at­ing. Burial will fol­low in Union Grove Ceme­tery, Scotch­town. Do­na­tions in his mem­ory may be made to the Feral and Aban­doned Cat So­ci­ety or Men­tal Health Ser­vices, Cape Breton Re­gional Hospi­tal, Syd­ney.
