MADORE, Priscilla Matilda ‘Babe’

It is with heavy hearts that we, the fam­ily of Priscilla ‘Babe’ Madore, age 87, an­nounce the pass­ing of our beloved mother, grand­mother, great grand­mother on Thurs­day, Fe­bru­ary 2, 2017 at the Glace Bay Hospi­tal, sur­rounded by her lov­ing fam­ily.

Born in Glace Bay and a long­time res­i­dent of North Street, she was the daugh­ter of the late Tal­bot and Mary Florence (LeR­oux) Butts. Babe was a res­i­dent of Seav­iew Manor since 2011.

In her ear­lier years, Babe en­joyed play­ing cards and sit­ting around the kitchen ta­ble with her fam­ily and friends and go­ing to card games at St. Leo’s Par­ish Hall with her hus­band, Joe.

Babe is sur­vived by her daugh­ter, Dar­lane McKil­lop, Glace Bay; her son, Nolan Madore (Mar­ion), Ft. McMurray; grand­chil­dren, Shawn McKil­lop (Felicia), Danielle Sif­nakis (James), Ni­cole War­ren, Denette Madore and Co­lette Madore.

Babe was a proud and lov­ing great grand­mother to, Charles, Brea, Emma, Liam, Me­gan, Paulina, Ri­ley, Grace and Con­nor. Also sur­viv­ing are many nieces, neph­ews whom she loved dearly and her best friend, Brenda Somer­ton.

Be­sides her par­ents, she was pre­de­ceased by her hus­band, Joseph Madore; grand­son, Michael Madore; sis­ters, Cora MacIsaac, Maisie McPhee; broth­ers, Daniel, Nolan and Ma­jor Butts.

In Keep­ing with Babes wishes, cre­ma­tion has taken place un­der the di­rec­tion of V.J. McGil­livray Fu­neral Home, Glace Bay. There will be no vis­i­ta­tion or fu­neral mass. Grave­side com­mit­tal prayers will be held at a later date in St. Leo’s Ceme­tery, Glace Bay.

The fam­ily would like to thank Dr. Mark Ellerker and the staff of Seav­iew Manor for their com­pas­sion­ate care given to mom over the last 6 years.
