It is with great sad­ness that we an­nounce the pass­ing of Louie McDon­ald, age 62 of Do­min­ion on Fri­day, Fe­bru­ary 3, 2017 at the Glace Bay Hospi­tal with his fam­ily by his side.

Born in Glace Bay, he was the son of the late John and Cather­ine El­iz­a­beth (Pinkston) McDon­ald.

Louie worked for Devco for 24 years and also for Sys­tem Care. He en­joyed fish­ing, play­ing darts and was an Oil­ers Fan. Louie was an all-round handy­man.

Louie is sur­vived by his wife of 43 years, Carol Ann (Pe­ori); sons, Louie Jr. (Melissa), Re­serve Mines, Robert (Jen­nifer), Onslow, N.S.; sis­ter, Laura (Brian); brothers, Billy (Verna, de­ceased), Danny (Juli­ette), Reg­gie; grand­chil­dren, Ju­lia, Olivia, Jake and Ryan who were his pride and joy.

Be­side his par­ents Louie was pre­de­ceased by his brother, John and one brother in in­fancy.

Vis­i­ta­tion will be held on Tues­day, Fe­bru­ary 7, 2017 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in V.J. McGil­livray Fu­neral Home, 16 Re­serve Street, Glace Bay.

A fu­neral ser­vice will be held in the fu­neral home chapel on Wed­nes­day, Fe­bru­ary 8, 2017 at 11 a.m. with Rev Ver­non Reid of­fi­ci­at­ing. Re­cep­tion to fol­low.

Cre­ma­tion will take place fol­low­ing the ser­vice. In­ter­ment will be held at later date in For­est Haven Memo­rial Gar­dens.

Do­na­tions in mem­ory of Louie may be made to the Cancer Cen­ter at the Cape Bre­ton Re­gional Hospi­tal.
