It is with heart­felt sad­ness that we an­nounce the pass­ing of our beloved mother, grand­mother, great grand­mother and sis­ter on Satur­day, Fe­bru­ary 4, 2017, one day after cel­e­brat­ing her 84th birth­day. Born in 1933, Pauline was a daugh­ter of the late Xavier and Laura (Chais­son) Poirier.

Be­sides her par­ents, Pauline was pre­de­ceased by her hus­band, James (Jim) Fer­gu­son in 2015. She is also pre­de­ceased by her brothers, Al­bert, Henry, John­nie, Gerry and sis­ters, Marg, Jay, Lor­raine, Marie and Bea.

Pauline is sur­vived by her son, Jim (Jean); her daugh­ter, Francine (Joe) Chur­ney; her brother, Si­mon Poirier; and sis­ters, Kaye Vi­en­naux and Made­line Cormier. She is also sur­vived by her grand­chil­dren, Shane (Ker­rie) Fer­gu­son, Erin (Greg) Arse­nault, Chris (Mar­i­lyn) Chur­ney, Karolyn (Travis) Humphrey and Brian (Shauna) Chur­ney; her nine great grand­chil­dren and sev­eral nieces and neph­ews.

To­gether with her hus­band Jim, Pauline was the owner of Fer­gu­son’s Dairy on Mansfield Street, Glace Bay for 30 years.

As per her wishes, cre­ma­tion has taken place un­der the di­rec­tion of T.J. Tracey Cre­ma­tion and Burial Spe­cial­ists, 370 Re­serve St., Glace Bay (902) 8494199.

Vis­i­ta­tion will be held Thurs­day, Fe­bru­ary 9, 2017 from 7-9 p.m. with a fu­neral ser­vice Fri­day, Fe­bru­ary 10, 2017 at 11 a.m. in the fu­neral home Chapel with Dea­con Lorne MacNeil.
