The Louise Gil­lis rink from the Syd­ney Curl­ing Club won both its games to open play at the 2017 AMI Cana­dian Vi­sion Im­paired Curl­ing Cham­pi­onship on Mon­day. The Gil­lis team, rep­re­sent­ing Nova Sco­tia at the event, opened with a 10-7 vic­tory over Ida Skin­ner of On­tario and a 12-11 tri­umph over Dean Martell of Bri­tish Columbia. Skip Gil­lis is joined by lead Joyce Wells, sec­ond/ sweeper Terry Lynn Mac­Don­ald, sec­ond/sweeper Mike Vrooman, third Chris Lewis, and guides/coaches John Maru­siak and Sid­ney Fran­cis.
