It is with sad­ness that we an­nounce the sud­den pass­ing of our dear son, hus­band, fa­ther, grand­son, brother, un­cle and friend, Jason Ash­ford, age 44, on Tues­day, Jan­uary 31, 2017 in Al­berta as a re­sult of a mo­tor ve­hi­cle ac­ci­dent.

Born in North Syd­ney on Jan­uary 4, 1973, he was the son of John “Jack” Ash­ford and the late Sharon Tay­lor.

Jason had been liv­ing and work­ing in Al­berta for the past num­ber of years and was a mem­ber of Lo­cal #92 Labour­ers Union.

He is sur­vived by his fa­ther, Jack Ash­ford (Darlene), North Syd­ney; by his wife, Lisa (Baker) Ash­ford, Le­duc Al­berta; his five chil­dren, Justin Camp­bell, Ri­ley Wad­den, J.T., Remi and Jade Ash­ford; by his two sis­ters, Laura Lee (Dar­ren) Chisholm, Syd­ney Mines, Paula (Jon) Milne, Hal­i­fax; by his step brothers, Richard, Joey and step sis­ter, Lee-Ann. Also sur­viv­ing are his pa­ter­nal grand­mother, Gla­dys Ash­ford, North Syd­ney and sev­eral aunts, un­cles and cousins.

Be­sides his mother, Sharon, he was pre­de­ceased by a sis­ter, Jac­que­line.

A fu­neral ser­vice and burial will take place in North Syd­ney at a later date.

Fu­neral ar­range­ments are un­der the care and di­rec­tion of the W.J. Doo­ley Fu­neral Home, North Syd­ney.
