Man charged in con­nec­tion with stolen bank card

GLACE BAY — A 38-year-old Glace Bay al­leged to have stolen a bank card and then emp­tied the ac­count of the card owner is to ap­pear in pro­vin­cial later this month. Ken­neth Al­lan Mor­ri­son of Kaneville Road is charged with theft un­der $5,000. He is to make his first court ap­pear­ance Feb. 22. The of­fence is al­leged to have oc­curred last Nov. 15 at the Glace Bay Credit Union. As pre­vi­ously re­ported by the Cape Bre­ton Post, April MacKin­non left her bank card at the credit union’s ATM and later re­al­ized her ac­count had been ac­cessed by some­one else who with­drew $200. Cape Bre­ton Re­gional Po­lice had re­leased video sur­veil­lance from the credit union in hopes of track­ing down a sus­pect. MacKin­non’s story touched the hearts of many lo­cal res­i­dents who rushed to her aid with do­na­tions.
