Man charged in connection with stolen bank card
GLACE BAY — A 38-year-old Glace Bay alleged to have stolen a bank card and then emptied the account of the card owner is to appear in provincial later this month. Kenneth Allan Morrison of Kaneville Road is charged with theft under $5,000. He is to make his first court appearance Feb. 22. The offence is alleged to have occurred last Nov. 15 at the Glace Bay Credit Union. As previously reported by the Cape Breton Post, April MacKinnon left her bank card at the credit union’s ATM and later realized her account had been accessed by someone else who withdrew $200. Cape Breton Regional Police had released video surveillance from the credit union in hopes of tracking down a suspect. MacKinnon’s story touched the hearts of many local residents who rushed to her aid with donations.
