Bud­get meet­ing for lo­cal non-prof­its resched­uled

SYD­NEY — The Cape Bre­ton Re­gional Mu­nic­i­pal­ity has resched­uled its fes­ti­val and events meet­ing to Wed­nes­day due to in­clement weather con­di­tions ear­lier this week. The even­ing ses­sion, hosted by mu­nic­i­pal recre­ation staff, is for all non-profit fes­ti­val and event groups that will be hold­ing events dur­ing the 2017-18 bud­get year. The ses­sion will be held in the com­mu­nity room of the CBRM Civic Cen­tre, which is on the water­front side of 320 Es­planade. Its fo­cus will be on ap­ply­ing for fes­ti­val and events fund­ing through the CBRM com­mu­nity fa­cil­i­ties grants and con­tri­bu­tions pol­icy, as well as ac­cess­ing in-kind ser­vices from the de­part­ment. In the 2016-17 bud­get year more than 40 groups ac­cessed $340,000 in fund­ing for fes­ti­vals and events. In or­der to en­sure all groups can be ac­com­mo­dated, it is asked that a max­i­mum of two rep­re­sen­ta­tives from each group at­tend this meet­ing.
