Budget meeting for local non-profits rescheduled
SYDNEY — The Cape Breton Regional Municipality has rescheduled its festival and events meeting to Wednesday due to inclement weather conditions earlier this week. The evening session, hosted by municipal recreation staff, is for all non-profit festival and event groups that will be holding events during the 2017-18 budget year. The session will be held in the community room of the CBRM Civic Centre, which is on the waterfront side of 320 Esplanade. Its focus will be on applying for festival and events funding through the CBRM community facilities grants and contributions policy, as well as accessing in-kind services from the department. In the 2016-17 budget year more than 40 groups accessed $340,000 in funding for festivals and events. In order to ensure all groups can be accommodated, it is asked that a maximum of two representatives from each group attend this meeting.
