GILLIS RINK COMPLETES PLAY
The Louise Gillis rink from the Sydney Curling Club came up short in the page semifinal at the 2017 AMI Canadian Vision Impaired Curling Championship. The local team suffered a 7-4 loss to Alberta. The Gillis rink did come home with a bronze medal from the round robin, finishing with a 3-3 record and winning both tiebreakers: 4-3 versus Ontario and 5-3 over Canada. Skip Gillis is joined by lead Joyce Wells, second/sweeper Terry Lynn MacDonald, second/sweeper Mike Vrooman, third Chris Lewis, and guides/coaches John Marusiak and Sidney Francis.
