It is with heavy hearts that we an­nounce the pass­ing of our lov­ing mother Phyl­lis Marie Dunlop, age 95, for­merly of Florence, who passed away peace­fully at the North­side Guest Home in North Sydney on Fe­bru­ary 13, 2017.

Born on March 1, 1921, she was the daugh­ter of the late Wil­liam and Clara (Bin­ney) Mor­ri­son of Kempt Head.

Phyl­lis was a lov­ing mother, sis­ter, grand­mother and great grand­mother. She en­joyed so­cial­iz­ing, cook­ing, knit­ting mit­tens for chil­dren in need and do­ing her word search puz­zles while drink­ing her Tim Hor­ton’s cof­fee and eat­ing her fa­vorite treats. She will al­ways be re­mem­bered for her pos­i­tive at­ti­tude and won­der­ful sense of hu­mour.

Phyl­lis will be sadly and lov­ingly missed by her daugh­ters, Ber­nice (Buddy Tay­lor) of Florence, Dale (Wayne Mac­Dougall) of Amherst, NS and son, Wil­liam (Carolyn Dunlop) of Riverview, NB. Also left with spe­cial mem­o­ries of their grand­mother are, Leanne (Steve), Bryan, Stephen (Brit­tney), David (Christina) and Dar­ren (Is­abelle); her great grand­chil­dren, Kyla, Brook­lyn, Noah, Olivia and Char­lie. Phyl­lis is also sur­vived by her brother, Lloyd Mor­ri­son; sis­ter, Muriel Mor­ri­son and sev­eral nieces and neph­ews.

She was pre­de­ceased by her lov­ing hus­band, Ken­neth Dunlop as well as her brother, Wil­liam Charles ‘Buster’; her sis­ters, Florence and Gertrude; two neph­ews and one niece.

A vis­i­ta­tion will take place on Sun­day, Fe­bru­ary 19, 2017 from 2-4 p.m. at Fill­more & Whit­man Fu­neral Home, 10 Clyde Av­enue, Sydney Mines. Fu­neral Ser­vice will be held at 2 p.m. on Mon­day, also at Fill­more & Whit­man, with Rev. Peter MacDon­ald of­fi­ci­at­ing. In­ter­ment in St. James Ceme­tery Big Bras d’Or will take place in the spring. Con­do­lences may be for­warded to the fam­ily by vis­it­ing www.fill­more­and­whit­man.com.
